Prince Sultan University has collaborated with Red Hat, the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, to create the King Salman Education for Employment Program Red Hat Academy. Red Hat Academy is an open source, web-deployed and web-managed education program that is designed to provide turnkey curriculum materials to academic institutions to start and sustain an open source and Linux curriculum program.
The King Salman Education for Employment Program at Prince Sultan University supports recent college graduates who need more practical training in order to compete in today’s job market.
In fact, just last month HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh, laid the cornerstone for the new King Salman Center for Education for Employment building at Prince Sultan University. This center is seen as an important national development project that contributes to building a generation capable of achieving the objectives of economic development in Saudi Arabia.

Red Hat, Inc.  announced the opening of two new offices in Bangalore and New Delhi. These offices mark the company’s continued commitment to enabling customer success with open hybrid cloud solutions in India.
With the opening of the new offices, Red Hat is expanding its footprint in India with a goal of supporting interest for open source solutions and services from customers and partners and further promoting the benefits open source solutions can offer enterprises in India. Red Hat now has six offices in India, including additional facilities in Bangalore and New Delhi, and offices in Mumbai and Pune.
Red Hat’s new Bangalore office is a 14,000 sq. ft. facility at Lavelle Road. It is designed to act as a training and enablement center for customers and partners. Red Hat announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 3scale, a leading provider of application programming interface (API) management technology. By adding 3scale to its existing portfolio, including Red Hat JBoss Middleware, Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Mobile Application Platform, Red Hat strengthens its enablement of the API economy with simplified cloud integration and microservices-based architectures.

Platform-as-a-service, or PaaS, is an increasingly popular cloud offering that enables developers and IT operations professionals to build and maintain applications while avoiding many infrastructure-related challenges and expenses. According to a 2014 IDC report, the global PaaS market is expected to reach $20.3 billion in 2018 as enterprises continue to adopt this new technology.

SUSE announced significant enhancements and additions to its training programs for users of enterprise Linux, storage and cloud solutions They include new courses for SUSE OpenStack Cloud and SUSE Enterprise Storage, the availability of online technical certification training and exams, a cross-certification agreement with the Linux Foundation, and an improved, SUSE-focused worldwide training partner network. These developments will make it easier for customers to obtain training to effectively run today's data centers.

The Ceph Community, the worldwide collection of developers working to build the popular Ceph software-defined storage project, today announced the formation of an advisory board to assist the community in driving the direction of open source software-defined storage technology. The advisory board launches with the goal of expanding and enhancing community participation and collaboration for the Ceph project, working closely with the community’s technical and user committees.

Red Hat announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Ansible, Inc., a provider of powerful IT automation solutions designed to help enterprises move toward frictionless IT. Ansible's automation capabilities, together with Red Hat's existing management portfolio, will help users drive down the cost and complexity of deploying and managing both cloud-native and traditional applications across hybrid cloud environments. With today’s announcement, Red Hat expands its leadership in hybrid cloud management, OpenStack and containers.

SUSE and Huawei are collaborating to include SUSE Linux Enterprise Server as the operating environment in Huawei's new SAP HANA Appliance Solution. The combination of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Huawei's SAP HANA appliance will speed up real-time data analysis and processing for enterprise customers, thus improving their decision-making capabilities and making their businesses more responsive and agile.

SUSE announced the availability of SUSE LinuxEnterprise Server for SAP Applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Through SUSE's "bring-your-own-subscription" program, customers can use their existing subscriptions to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications  to develop and test SAP workloads on AWS. As a result, customers benefit from flexible AWS infrastructure that matches their changing needs while using the leading Linux platform for SAP solutions.

Red Hat has announced its participation at the upcoming IDC CIO Summit 2015 taking place at the Four Seasons hotel, Kingdom Centre Riyadh from September 8-9, 2015. The company will demonstrate its open, hybrid cloud technologies for bare metal, virtualization, private cloud and public cloud deployments.

Avnet announced the availability of the MicroZed Carrier Card Kit for Arduino, a Arduino-compatible carrier card for Avnet's MicroZed system-on-module (SOM). The platform enables designers in markets including industrial control, remote sensing, embedded vision and many other IoT-centric applications, to quickly develop prototypes that combine the MicroZed SOM with the large ecosystem of Arduino shields. The kit is now selling for US$89 and is available in Asia.

Red Hat released findings from its recent mobile survey revealing trends in enterprise mobility hiring priorities for 2015. According to the survey, 50 percent of organizations plan to hire for mobile positions this year. Of those organizations, 32 percent are focused on skills related to front-end development, with 27 percent looking for back-end integration skills and 15 percent seeking DevOps for mobile.
